Gristede's Settles Sex-Bias Class Action For $1.5M

Law360, New York (August 13, 2012, 1:28 PM EDT) -- New York City grocery chain Gristede's Foods Inc. has agreed to pay $1.45 million to more than 800 female cashiers over allegations that the supermarket steered women into lower-paying, part-time jobs and refused to promote them to management positions, according to settlement papers filed Friday.
