SoCal Vegan Restaurant Says Starbucks Swiped 'Evolution' Mark

Law360, Los Angeles (August 14, 2012, 9:26 PM EDT) -- A San Diego-based vegan restaurant on Monday hit Starbucks Corp. with a trademark infringement lawsuit accusing the coffee giant of copying its logo after purchasing organic juice maker Evolution Fresh Inc. in a bid to dominate the health restaurant industry.

Evolution Fast Foods LLC, which serves a variety of vegetarian hamburgers, wraps and other entrees, claims that the new Evolution Fresh logo Starbucks uses is substantially similar to its own and is likely to confuse potential customers.
