Prudential Gets Nod For $444M Newark Office Complex

Law360, New York (August 14, 2012, 4:30 PM EDT) -- Prudential Financial Inc.'s plan to build a $444 million, 20-story office tower in downtown Newark, N.J., was approved by the city planning board Monday, paving the way for the company's move from its rented digs in the city.

In a unanimous decision, the board approved the construction of the 300-foot structure on Broad Street near Military Park. The insurer and financial services company, which has called Newark home for 137 years, plans to move 3,000 workers from the nearby Gateway Center into the new skyscraper....
