Health Food Co. To Pay $1.4M To Settle Calorie Deception Suit

Law360, New York (August 16, 2012, 1:23 PM EDT) -- Health food maker Sensible Foods LLC and a nationwide class of consumers claiming the company deceived them about the fat and caloric content of its products asked a New Jersey federal court on Wednesday to grant final approval of a $1.35 million settlement.

The agreement would resolve a six-year legal battle over the nutritional listings on several of Sensible Foods' Dr. Praeger's label frozen products, including vegetarian patties and pancakes.
