Lawmaker Booted From Ill. House Amid Federal Bribery Charge

Law360, Chicago (August 17, 2012, 4:58 PM EDT) -- Illinois lawmakers expelled Rep. Derrick Smith, D-Chicago, from the state's House of Representatives on Friday following a federal bribery charge alleging he took a $7,000 cash payment to help a business he thought was applying for a state grant.
