Franchisees Say Dunkin' Donuts 'Runs On Discrimination'

Law360, New York (August 21, 2012, 9:03 PM EDT) -- Three former Dunkin' Donuts franchise owners filed a bias suit in state court Monday, alleging the company discriminates against minorities by denying them franchises in lucrative communities and steering them toward less profitable areas.

Plaintiffs Reggie and Amy Pretto, an African American couple living in Montclaire, and Priti Shetty, an Indian American woman from Montville, are former franchisees who say their federal and state civil rights were violated by Dunkin' Donuts in its business dealings with them.
