Ill. Pension Fund Commits $100M To RE Investment Firm

Law360, New York (August 24, 2012, 6:02 PM EDT) -- The board of the Teachers' Retirement System of the State of Illinois voted Thursday to funnel $100 million into private equity-backed real estate investment firm Walton Street Capital LLC and to end a property management agreement with KBS Realty Advisors.

TRS committed funds from its real estate portfolio for the capital injection, which builds on $200 million that the pension fund had previously put into Walton Street, according to TRS.
