Iran Terror Victims Sue MasterCard To Collect $590M Award

Law360, New York (August 27, 2012, 5:03 PM EDT) -- Aiming to collect on judgments worth $590 million, families of U.S. Air Force personnel killed in a 1996 terrorist bombing sued MasterCard International Inc. on Friday in hopes of forcing the credit card giant to hand over blocked assets linked to Iran.

The lawsuit is related to the Khobar Towers attack in Saudi Arabia that killed 19 Americans and was later tied to Iranian-backed militant group Hezbollah. According to the families, MasterCard in June said it had transferred Iranian bank funds to a pair of accounts...
