Refco Administrators Try To Pare Down Claims

Law360, New York (October 12, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The administrators of Refco Inc.'s Chapter 11 reorganization plan asked a bankruptcy judge Thursday to expunge roughly two dozen claims and to classify, reduce or withdraw many more.

The two court-appointed administrators filed a motion to alter the status of these various claims against the largely defunct futures broker in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York.

Along with the motion, the administrators, who are lawyers at Bingham McCutchen LLP, filed lists of the claims in question organized under six categories....
