Syngenta To Pay $125M For DuPont Pest Control Unit

Law360, New York (August 29, 2012, 12:25 PM EDT) -- Swiss chemical company Syngenta AG will fork over $125 million for DuPont Co.'s insecticide business, expanding its global offerings aimed at golf courses, lawn care professionals and ornamental growers, Syngenta said Wednesday.

Through the deal, the world's biggest agrochemicals company said it would swallow up DuPont Professional Products' Advion and Acelepryn pest-control brands, plus “other intellectual property” and an unspecified number of employees. The pair will also establish exclusive supply and licensing arrangements as part of the transaction, according to Syngenta.
