Twitter, Facebook Unveil Ad Features Amid Increased Scrutiny

Law360, New York (September 4, 2012, 2:51 PM EDT) -- Twitter Inc. and Facebook Inc. on Thursday separately revealed expansions of their targeted advertising programs, as regulators push the industry to be more transparent about how they track users and share information with advertisers.

In a blog post, Twitter Product Management Director Kevin Weil introduced "interest targeting," a capability that will enable advertisers to target their promoted tweets and promoted accounts campaigns to a set of interests that they choose themselves.
