Amazon Hires Away Privacy Chief From GE

Law360, New York (September 4, 2012, 3:24 PM EDT) -- Inc. has become the latest Internet giant to hire a chief privacy officer, luring away a senior privacy attorney from General Electric Co. to serve as vice president and associate general counsel for compliance and privacy, a company spokesman said Tuesday.

Nuala O'Connor spent seven years as a senior counsel and chief privacy leader at GE before taking the position at Amazon. She has also served as chief privacy officer for the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and U.S. Department of Commerce.
