Calif. Hospital Chain Strikes $6M Deal With OT Class

Law360, Los Angeles (September 7, 2012, 5:53 PM EDT) -- Hospital chain AHMC Inc. has agreed to pay $6 million to settle a class action alleging it shorted about 2,500 workers on overtime and breaks, but a California judge held off on approving the deal Friday, saying she needs more information about the value of their claims.

Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Michelle R. Rosenblatt declined to grant a motion for preliminary approval of the settlement by AHMC and several related hospital entities, saying attorneys for the workers should explain the reasonable range of outcomes if...
