Writer Sues For $1.5M Over Rights To Thriller Film

Law360, New York (September 7, 2012, 9:50 PM EDT) -- An author who claims he wrote the screenplay for an upcoming movie about nuclear holocaust survivors on Thursday sued his ex-attorney and others involved in the production of the film for $1.5 million and a cut of the receipts, saying he’d been cheated out of his rights.

Plaintiff Christian McDonald alleges in his complaint, filed in New York state court, that he was swindled out of money and pushed out of production of the movie so that his former attorney Barry J. Reiss could profit along with some of his other clients.
