Candy Co. Defends Time Sheet Rounding In Calif. Appeal

Law360, San Diego (September 13, 2012, 8:00 PM EDT) -- In the first-ever California appellate case over an employer's policy of rounding workers' time entries, See's Candy Shops Inc. on Thursday disputed a trial court's ruling that favored a class of employees who sued over the practice. 

The employees maintain that the rounding of time sheets to the nearest six minutes violates state law, while the company claims its calculation of time is consistent with federal law and state guidelines.
