Relacore Maker Illegally Recorded Calls, Customer Claims

Law360, New York (September 14, 2012, 2:32 PM EDT) -- Carter-Reed Co., maker of weight-loss drug Relacore, was hit on Thursday with a proposed class action lawsuit accusing the company of violating California privacy and consumer protection laws when it allegedly recorded consumers’ phone calls.

Plaintiff Taylor Demulder said he called Carter-Reed earlier this month to get information about Relacore and that without his knowledge or consent, the phone call was recorded. Demulder said he believes the company illegally records other such calls.
