Bloomberg Asks FCC To Order Comcast Channel Moves

Law360, Los Angeles (September 14, 2012, 8:31 PM EDT) -- Bloomberg LP on Thursday asked the Federal Communications Commission to force Comcast Cable Communications LLC to carry Bloomberg Television near competing news programs on certain channel lineups, saying an administrative stay on an FCC order requiring so-called news neighborhooding is inappropriate.

“[N]eighborhooding benefits consumers, promotes competition, and protects independent programmers,” Bloomberg wrote Thursday in an application for review of an Aug. 14 action by the FCC’s media bureau. “Now is the time to continue pushing forward with the implementation of the news neighborhooding condition.”
