US Challenges Chinese Auto Subsidies In WTO

Law360, New York (September 17, 2012, 1:23 PM EDT) -- The U.S. on Monday lodged a complaint with the World Trade Organization over Chinese government subsidies on cars and auto parts, the same day China launched its own WTO challenge over U.S. duties on billions of dollars worth of exports.

The complaints, which the WTO said it received Monday, mark the latest development in a strained trade relationship between the U.S. and China, with both sides alleging misuse of protective trade measures to the detriment of domestic producers in each country.
