Roc-A-Fella Co-Founder Sues Lawyer Over Lost Curren$y

Law360, Los Angeles (September 17, 2012, 6:49 PM EDT) -- Roc-A-Fella Records co-founder Damon Dash filed a legal malpractice and breach of contract suit against his former attorney Friday, saying her failure to memorialize a deal with rapper Curren$y nearly destroyed his media company DD172 LLC, causing $5 million in damages.

Dash’s complaint, filed in New York state court on Friday, raises allegations that entertainment attorney Janis Shen took a $15,000 retainer and then failed to deliver on promises to draft a three-record deal with Curren$y, allowing the rapper to sign with rival Warner Bros. Records...
