Biofuel Company Accused Of Dumping Toxic Waste

Law360, Houston (September 18, 2012, 5:49 PM EDT) -- Several Houston residents hit an alternative fuel maker with a proposed class action Tuesday, alleging the company exposed them to the toxic effects of thousands of gallons of hazardous waste that was dumped near their homes and places of business.

Putative lead plaintiff Sharon Turner claims that Lonnie Perkins, at the direction of his employer, biodiesel maker New Energy Fuels LLC, systematically dumped unusable methanol and other chemicals into public reservoirs throughout Harris County, polluting surrounding groundwater and reducing property values.
