House Bill Would Give Contractors Whistleblower Protections

Law360, New York (September 19, 2012, 7:41 PM EDT) -- U.S. Reps. Jackie Speier, D-Calif. and Todd Platts, R-Pa., introduced legislation Friday that would extend whistleblower protections to all federal contractors and federal grant recipients, following a Senate proposal introduced in April.

The Non-Federal Employee Whistleblower Protection Act, or H.R. 6406, is a companion to Missouri Democrat Claire McCaskill's S.241, which passed the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee but has not been brought to the Senate floor for a vote.
