Sheldrake Exec Gets 1 Year For $2.2M Battery Park Condo Scam

Law360, New York (September 20, 2012, 8:46 PM EDT) -- A New York federal judge on Thursday sentenced an executive of a real estate development company to 15 months in prison for fraudulently submitting a $2.2 million invoice to a German bank to keep a $573 million residential project in Battery Park afloat.

In addition to the sentence, U.S. District Judge Naomi Reice Buchwald ordered J. Christopher Daly to pay $2.2 million in restitution. Daly and fellow Sheldrake Organization Inc. official Michael Abreu pled guilty in April to one count of conspiracy to commit mail fraud...
