Funai Wants TV Patent Infringement Probe From ITC

Law360 (October 19, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Funai Corp. Inc. has filed a section 337 complaint before the U.S. International Trade Commission against a slew of major television makers and sellers, among them Polaroid Corp. and Vizio Inc., which it says imported digital televisions that infringe its newly acquired patents.

In the complaint filed Monday, the Japanese company, which sells televisions in the U.S. under its Sylvania and Magnavox brands, asked the ITC to open an investigation into fourteen companies it has already targeted in litigation.
