Construction Unions Say University Of Del. Violates Wage Laws

Law360, Wilmington (September 21, 2012, 3:00 PM EDT) -- A coalition of local construction unions on Thursday accused the University of Delaware of shirking state wage statutes and giving nonunion labor an unfair advantage in a massive upcoming project.

In a complaint filed in Delaware Chancery Court, the Delaware Building & Construction Trades Council AFL-CIO says the university needs to comply with the state’s Prevailing Wage Law, which mandates hourly rates for all workers in large projects using state funds that are roughly on par with union wages.
