Anadarko Says Shareholders Weren't Duped In Deepwater Suit

Law360, New York (September 24, 2012, 3:34 PM EDT) -- Anadarko Petroleum Corp. on Friday urged a Texas federal court to throw out a putative shareholder class action alleging the company deceived investors about the safety of the Deepwater Horizon well, saying they haven't identified any misleading statements.

Anadarko argues that the investors, led by plaintiff Jerry D. Godowin, have relied on vague remarks from the company in their effort to find an actionable statement related to its stake in the ruptured well.
