Mario Batali Strikes $1M Deal To End Waitstaff Wage Suit

Law360, New York (September 25, 2012, 2:33 PM EDT) -- Celebrity chef Mario Batali's New York City restaurant Del Posto has agreed to serve up $1.15 million and provide workers with paid sick leave, settling a lawsuit Monday in which employees claimed the restaurant illegally helped itself to a slice of their tips.

U.S. Magistrate Judge Ronald J. Ellis signed off on the deal and dismissed the case, ending the legal battle between the restaurant and 31 current and former employees.
