Allstate Agents Are Contractors, Not Employees, Judge Says

Law360, New York (September 25, 2012, 7:43 PM EDT) -- A federal judge in Washington state ruled Monday that an insurance sales agent hoping to lead an overtime class action against Allstate Corp. was not an employee but an independent contractor to whom federal and state wage laws do not apply.
