Maybelline's Long-Lasting Lipstick Claims Are Made Up: Suit

Law360, New York (September 25, 2012, 9:02 PM EDT) -- Cosmetics brand Maybelline LLC was hit with a proposed class action Friday accusing it of misleading marketing of its long-lasting Super Stay lipstick products, which customers claim wears off within hours.

In a complaint filed in New York federal court, plaintiffs Carol Leebove, Denise Santiago and Wanda Santa, who purchased Maybelline's “Super Stay 10HR Stain Gloss” and “Super Stay 14HR Lipstick” products, claim that even though the brand marketed the products as lasting for 10 hours and 14 hours, respectively, they wear off within a few hours.
