Ericsson Prevails In Protracted Patent Battle With Harris Corp.

Law360 (August 8, 2005, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A pair of decisions by a federal appeals court has left communications equipment maker Harris Corp. bruised, if not defeated, in a 17-year battle with Swedish rival Ericsson, Inc. over wireless gear patents.

In two opinions issued last week, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit threw out most the infringement findings in a $61 million judgment against Ericsson and upheld a lower court’s separate judgment against Harris.
