House Approves Expanded Federal Whistleblower Protections

Law360, New York (September 28, 2012, 4:19 PM EDT) -- The U.S. House of Representatives on Friday unanimously approved legislation that would strengthen legal protections for federal employees who blow the whistle on government fraud, waste and abuse. 

The House passed the Whistleblower Protection Enhancement Act by unanimous consent during a brief session Friday, even though many lawmakers were back in their districts campaigning. The bill will now move to the Senate, which passed a version of the legislation in May.
