$899M Miami Hotel Suit Belongs In Fla., NY Judge Says

Law360, New York (October 1, 2012, 8:00 PM EDT) -- A New York state judge dismissed a Miami hotel owner's $899 million suit Friday and called it out on possibly forum shopping the case, which accuses Wells Fargo Bank NA and other servicers of  the hotel's mortgage of releasing confidential financial information.

Justice Charles E. Ramos granted a motion to dismiss, siding with the servicers' argument that hotel owner Philips South Beach LLC was obligated by a contract tied to the mortgage refinancing for Miami Beach's Shore Club to resolve any disputes in Florida.
