Berkshire Hathaway Unit Snags 2 Wind Farms Totaling 300 MW

Law360, New York (October 1, 2012, 3:14 PM EDT) -- A unit of Warren Buffett's Berkshire Hathaway Inc. announced Sunday that it has agreed to buy two California wind farms with a combined power generation capacity of 300 megawatts in a bid to add to its renewable energy assets.

MidAmerican Wind, a unit of MidAmerican Energy Holdings Co., will pick up the 168-megawatt Alta Wind VII and the 132-megawatt Alta Wind IX projects from a subsidiary of California's Terra-Gen Power LLC, owned by private equity firms ArcLight Capital Partners and Global Infrastructure Partners.
