Paramount Dodges Rescission Claim In 'Hustle And Flow' Suit

Law360, Los Angeles (October 4, 2012, 5:50 PM EDT) -- In a potentially costly decision for film director John Singleton, a California judge on Thursday threw out a rescission claim in Singleton's contract case against Paramount Pictures that could have entitled him to recover millions of dollars in profits from his 2005 movie "Hustle and Flow."

The ruling marks a further trimming of Singleton's case, which will now go to trial only on claims that Paramount breached a contract and an implied covenant by failing to fulfill its promise to finance two of his future film...
