Pa. Newspapers Dodge Former Lancaster Official's Libel Suit

Law360, Philadelphia (October 5, 2012, 5:12 PM EDT) -- The Pennsylvania Superior Court has upheld a decision tossing ex-Lancaster County Commissioner Molly Henderson’s defamation case against three newspapers, ruling that the papers did not mischaracterize her participation in illegal meetings to discuss the sale of a county nursing facility.

The Superior Court affirmed a Chester County Court of Common Pleas judge’s ruling that, despite several errors in the articles that were subsequently corrected, the paper accurately described Henderson’s participation in meetings to discuss the sale of Lancaster County’s Conestoga View nursing home as criminal....
