Houston Suburb Sues State Over Highway Expansion Land Grab

Law360, Houston (October 9, 2012, 6:36 PM EDT) -- A northwest Houston suburb sued the Texas Transportation Commission in state court Monday, alleging that a planned expansion of U.S. 290 will intrude on city land and force relocation of several utility lines.

The city of Jersey Village says it should be reimbursed by the state for the expense of moving water and sewer lines from property it owns but which the state needs to complete the highway expansion.
