LA Times Settles Former Publisher's $13M Firing Suit

Law360, Los Angeles (October 9, 2012, 4:33 PM EDT) -- A former Los Angeles Times Magazine publisher has settled his $13 million suit alleging he was wrongfully fired for criticizing a decision to stop distributing the magazine to poor and minority neighborhoods, his attorney told Law360 on Tuesday.

Steve Gellman, who was fired in March 2010 after eight months as publisher, also claimed Tribune Co. falsely accused him of attacking a co-worker and made disparaging comments about his professionalism in order to cover up the true reasons for his termination.
