GOP Reps. Slam White House Over WARN Act 'Discrepancy'

Law360, New York (October 9, 2012, 7:37 PM EDT) -- House Republicans on Friday blasted the Obama administration for purportedly sending conflicting guidance to government contractors over potential Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act liability resulting from pending automatic budget cuts widely known as sequestration.

Reps. John Kline, R-Minn., Tim Walberg, R-Mich., and Phil Roe, R-Tenn., said in a letter to Jeffrey Zients, the acting director of the Office of Management and Budget, that WARN Act guidance issued by the OMB on Sept. 28 implies that contractors' may face liability for not issuing WARN Act notices...
