Gym Chain Crunch Hit With OT, Retaliation Suit

Law360, New York (October 12, 2012, 5:26 PM EDT) -- A former sales administrator at gym chain Crunch LLC claims the company failed to pay her proper overtime wages and then fired her when she complained about the treatment, according to a putative class action filed Tuesday in New York federal court.

Jameela Aghili says the 31-location chain of fitness centers willfully misclassified her and other sales representatives as exempt from the Fair Labor Standards Act's overtime rules, even though they performed no managerial tasks nor exercised independent judgment.
