Challenge To Bank's Foreclosure Standing Nixed Over Delay

Law360, New York (October 11, 2012, 6:28 PM EDT) -- A homeowner who did nothing to contest the foreclosure of his property for years can't suddenly upend judgment by claiming the bank that filed the suit lacked standing, a New Jersey appeals court ruled Thursday, clarifying earlier findings on the issue of foreclosure-related standing.

Homeowner Yony R. Angeles argued that Deutsche Bank Trust Co. Americas lacked standing because it wasn't assigned the mortgage on his property until two weeks after it had filed the original foreclosure complaint.
