Kindred Hospital Workers Push For Class Cert. On OT Claims

Law360, Los Angeles (October 11, 2012, 11:26 PM EDT) -- Attorneys for hourly Kindred Healthcare Inc. workers urged a California federal judge Thursday to certify several classes of more than 6,000 workers who claim the hospital giant shorted them overtime and meal breaks, arguing important public interests are at stake.

“This is the hospital industry,” attorney Joseph Antonelli told U.S. District Judge Dean D. Pregerson at a hearing Thursday.  “It’s important to the general public that these employees be well-rested and that they’re getting proper nutrition, that they’re eating.”
