Texas Proposes ACA-Ordered Medicare, Medicaid Provider Regs

Law360, Houston (October 12, 2012, 8:03 PM EDT) -- The Texas Health and Human Services Commission on Friday publicly released proposed new rules designed to comply with federal Medicare and Medicaid provider registration and anti-fraud regulatory requirements imposed by the Affordable Care Act.

According to background information the agency published with the proposed rules in the Texas Register, the new regulations are necessary to bring Texas Medicaid and the state’s Children’s Health Insurance Program into compliance with the new tighter federal requirements targeting fraud.
