AU Optronics Ducks Dell's KO Blow In LCD Price-Fixing Case

Law360, New York (October 12, 2012, 8:23 PM EDT) -- A California federal judge denied Dell Inc.'s bid Thursday to preclude AU Optronics Corp. from relitigating the extent of its involvement in a liquid crystal display panel price-fixing conspiracy, saying AUO's recent conviction doesn't cover the same time period or products at issue in the civil multidistrict litigation.

Dell had asked U.S. District Judge Susan Illston to rule, based on the criminal proceedings, that AUO violated the Sherman Act from Sept. 14, 2001, until Dec. 1, 2006, by fixing the price of thin-film transistor LCD panels...
