Educational Equipment Co. Pays $3M To Exit Wage Suit

Law360, New York (October 18, 2012, 7:55 PM EDT) -- A producer of educational technology products agreed Monday to pay out $3.1 million to settle class claims in New York federal court that it failed to pay installers prevailing wages or overtime.

Tequipment Inc., which makes and installs interactive whiteboards, overhead projectors and other classroom technology in New York and New Jersey, faced claims from former installers Eric Monserrate and Jason Infante that employees were not paid fairly, according to the agreement approved Monday by Judge Robert M.
