J&J Targets Consumer's Standing In Sunscreen False Ad Suit

Law360, New York (October 18, 2012, 5:37 PM EDT) -- Johnson & Johnson on Wednesday blasted a proposed class action that alleges some of its high-SPF sunscreens protect the skin no better than lower-SPF products, arguing the suit should be dismissed because the plaintiff had never purchased most of the products.

In a motion to dismiss the lawsuit from consumer Guillermina Contreras, J&J said that Contreras has admitted she had purchased only one of the four products in question, and that she lacks standing to bring any claims based on the unpurchased ones.
