Hartford Settles Suit Alleging Treasury Deputy Hid Extortion

Law360, Houston (October 18, 2012, 8:26 PM EDT) -- The Hartford Financial Services Group Inc. on Wednesday settled a suit brought by a Texas attorney who claimed the insurer and the current U.S. deputy treasury secretary caused him to be falsely prosecuted for bribery in a bid to cover up an extortion scheme.
