Author's Pseudonym Trademark Is A Scam, Publisher Says

Law360, New York (October 22, 2012, 2:06 PM EDT) -- New York-based publisher Melodrama Publishing LLC on Friday accused an author of fraudulently trademarking her pseudonym, Nisa Santiago, after failing to deliver a series of novels about a female drug kingpin that was eventually penned by another author.

Melodrama claims author Danielle Santiago misrepresented that she had used the pseudonym when she registered the Nisa Santiago trademark with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
