$529M In Sole-Source DOD Awards Found Mostly Justified

Law360, New York (October 22, 2012, 5:43 PM EDT) -- A review of 30 noncompetitive U.S. Department of Defense contract awards valued at a combined $529.2 million found that all but two of the awards were properly justified, according to an internal audit report released Friday.

After examining 30 noncompetitive contracts awarded at the U.S. Army Contracting Command in the Aberdeen Proving Ground Contracting Center in fiscal years 2009 and 2010, the DOD's Office of Inspector General concluded that almost all the awards met the requirements for contracting without full and open competition.
