Tom Cruise Hits Tabloids With $50M Defamation Suit

Law360, New York (October 24, 2012, 9:03 PM EDT) -- Tom Cruise filed a $50 million defamation suit against the publisher of Life & Style and In Touch magazines Wednesday over headlines on the magazine covers that stated his daughter Suri had been abandoned by Cruise in his recent divorce with Katie Holmes.

In a complaint filed in California federal court, Cruise says Bauer Publishing Co. LP maliciously and recklessly published headlines claiming he abandoned his six-year-old daughter in the July 30 issue of Life & Style and the Oct. 1 issue of In Touch....
