EU Data Protection Overhaul Threatens Flood Of Litigation

Law360, New York (October 26, 2012, 11:02 PM EDT) -- Google Inc.'s global privacy counsel and other industry attorneys predicted Friday that proposed data protection reforms in the European Union would invite an “avalanche” of lawsuits, saying the ability of regulators to impose massive fines would leave many companies with little choice but to challenge the penalties in court.
