$3.4B Tribal Land Settlement Won't Get Supreme Court Review

Law360, New York (October 29, 2012, 1:07 PM EDT) -- The U.S. Supreme Court on Monday declined to review a class member’s challenge to a $3.4 billion government settlement over allegedly mismanaged natural and energy resources on Native American tribal lands.

The high court denied Kimberly Craven’s petition for certiorari, which asked it to weigh in on class representatives' roles in large-scale settlements and whether absent class members’ rights had been ignored in the long-contested case.
